Grape Fruit Oil

Description:
Grapefruit is a hybrid subtropical citrus tree, scientifically termed as Citrus paradise belongs to Rutaceae family, also known as C. racemosa and C. maxima. It is originated from Asia, also cultivated in U.S.A., Brazil and Israel. It usually grows up to 16-20 feet but it can reach 43-49ft as well. Grapefruit flower its fruit is pale yellow orange skinned and grows in grape like clusters.Grapefruit oil is rich in antioxidants as it contains Vitamin C, Vitamin A and lycopene.

Extraction:
Grapefruit oil is extracted from grapefruit fresh peel through distillation process or by cold compression.

Properties:
Grapefruit essential oil is either pale yellow or light ruby in color, having sharp refreshing aroma and watery viscosity.

Composition:
The most abundant constitute of grapefruit oil is limonene approx 80-85% and other major constituents are alpha pinene, sabinene, myrcene, geraniol, linalool, decyl acetate, neryl acetate and terpinen-4-ol.

Blending:
Grapefruit oil is nicely mixes with bergamot, lavender, geranium, palmarosa and frankincense essential oil.
